You will not believe what I’m going to tell you. Just by using a simple ingredient at home, you can keep your toddler entertained for hours on end! Are you ready? This is my secret ingredient: flour! Yes you read that right! All you need is some flour and a big tray. Pour the flour into the tray and your child can have fun with it trying out these games.
Ask your toddler to draw an apple, orange or a star in the flour. You can also ask him to write his alphabets. Once your toddler is done with his masterpiece, all you have to do is to give the tray a quick shake to reset the flour and he’s free to go at it again!
If your child is fond of construction sites like many little boys are, this is a great game to play! Simple use his trucks and excavators to pl8ay in the tray. Pretend that the flour is dirt and ask him to transport the dirt from point A to B. He’ll be spending hours here and will stay out of your hair.
To play this game, you must ensure that the flour is at least 3 inches thick. Give the tray a good shake to help the flour settle evenly. Once that is done, ask your child to stamp his hands in the flour to make a cute little handprint! This may sound simple and boring to adults like you and me, however, remember that your child is only 2 and every little thing is interesting to him!
